Date: Mid february, year 1052.
Time: Midday on its way to evening. Around 16-17.
Place: Nicholas' residence
Surroundings: N/A (we already know)
Weather: Raining with a slight thunder here and there
Outfit: Described in the topic.
Dedicated to: @Nicholas

She strolled carelessly through the city. She had spent too many days within the walls of Moriania that she started missing her actual home, Etermia's own slum of the city, the poverty forced to the outskirts of the city walls. From the filth to where she grew from the filth, knowing people and their struggles, she never quite felt at home amoung the rich. She knew where she originated from and sticking to your roots where always important. She had not long ago met her distant sister, Lucile, a peculiar girl with a split personality. The name however had sparked a curiosity in her, seeing that she remembered her father’s friend Ramsay Deverux mention such a name before.
Getting ahold of the book wasn’t a big deal either, seeing that her substitute of a father’s high standing as a general gave him the power to get her whatever she wanted. In a way, she was most grateful for having a person like that as her father figure, yet the wealth and titles gave it all a bitter taste. She was given a notebook by one of the guards. On the cover, it had nothing but a name. Lucile. She knew that reading this notebook wouldn’t just be a mistake, it’d be a nightmare. So she didn’t dare to open the book. She wouldn’t even think of it.
Sending her sister to the former doctor was probably her wisest decision. Not that she thought that he could cure her. But she knew that his human instinct mixed with the need to help everyone would be a good start for her. She sat on the roof, keeping an eye on all that happened. To the wounded men entering, till Lucile suddenly wandered out. She did think about helping her. She was also going to, until she spotted the doctor in the corner of her eye. It surprised her, caught her off-guard. So she sat there on the roof and watched it happen. Watched her sister go against her own hunger… for the sake of someone else.
It reminded her of the things she had done for those she cared about. She had sparked a quick conversation with the doctor shortly after Lucile carelessly wounded herself in an attempt to stop herself from doing any harm at all. She told him that their paths would cross again, and that day was today. She wasn’t sure how many days it had been since their first meet, but it had been a while. She hadn’t really heard from Lucile either, but it wasn’t really expected, seeing that Lucy, the other half, hated her guts.
She wore a dark worn out hoodie, with some brownish pants and leather boots. Simple clothing that made her blend in. On her back, she had a small backpack, to which the content was unknown. She didn’t even bother to knock on the door, but she rather just walked in, no matter what this doctor was doing, it was clear that she wasn’t just going to even give him a chance to close the door on her. She wore the hood over her head but the pink hair dangled against her collarbones. “Hello doctor. I hope I didn't pick a bad time to show up. After all I did warn you.” she said cheerfully before looking up. Her accent being way different than her sister's.

It was midday and he had no patients today, unless someone came in with an emergency. All things considering there was less of those lately, could be a million reasons why but it didn't matter, there was no shortage of people in a need of a doctor in this district. But not today, today he was free, which meant he had more time for his studies. After meeting Lucile, the only soul out there that could make him feel happy, he paused his previous studies and worked overtime on demons. He had some books from before, but he had been gathering more, any that he could. Even spreading word that he was looking for people with a good insight on them, maybe finding others that was studying them. He wanted to know more about Lucile, more on the type she was, anything that would help him understand her more. Aside from that there was also the Lucy situation. Finding a way to undo that would be hard. So far he had not found anything about two souls living in one body, but that was expected, it was after all Ramsey's work, which meant that it had to be private notes. He still had hopes that someone else had done the same, leaving notes behind to how it worked. In the time he had studied demons so far, he had learned a few things, one being that Lucile was a Blood demon and Moon was either a Soul demon or a Shadow demon, not enough information to go on. Every time he started studying on demons he thought of Lucile, it had been a while since he saw her last now and he was getting worried. He knew she could handle herself, but still, it had been a while, and he really missed her, his heart was aching for her. But he couldn't do anything but wait, trying to solve the puzzle in the meantime. There were several books on the table, including paper, sketches and a notebook, where he wrote down details that could prove useful for the transfer. His attire was the same as always, he never thought about style since his youth, whatever he wore would get bloodstained at some point either way so it didn't matter what he wore.

In his latest research he concluded that the transfer would be solely via some kind of mind ability or a combination abilities. Unless you would have to do something with a body first, which he did not see any point to why that would be. But he didn't leave anything out until it was for certain. Reading on different abilities of the mind kind, he heard someone outside his door, opening it. He wasn't expecting anyone, he got excited as he thought it might be Lucile coming back, putting the book back on the table as a smile started showing. But as soon as Moon walked in he recognized her hair the second he saw it. His smile quickly disappeared as his blood got hot, he stood up in an instant, throwing the chair back against the bookshelf at the force from getting up. "YOU" he quickly got around the table walking at a quick pace towards her, looking like he was going to war the way he moved, pointing at her "You have some explaining to do, lets start with why the fuck you left your sister to bleed out in the ally?" he said furiously over her sentence, completely ignoring what she had said. His breathing was heavier as he glared at her, waiting for whatever excuse she would come up with. His anger towards her clouded some of his thoughts but not completely, why was she here? and why now? He felt he had no patience towards her. He didn't know much about her but he knew enough to skip the friendly chit chat.

She wasn’t sure about what sort of reaction she expected. But it wasn’t very surprising that he immediately got up from his chair to confront her. She barely blinked nor flinched as he shot up from the chair, making it bash against the bookshelf. She stood her ground with her hands in her pockets and sighed, a sigh that indicated that she already didn’t want to argue:” Alright doctor. What could I have done? I knew she was in good potent hands, seeing that its your line of work, not mine. I provided you with what she actually needed. Would you have wanted me to stick around for a chit chat?” she said with no sort of expression on her face.
A smile went across her face before she shook her head:” I did what I had to do and went on my way. I know what you’re capable of and I didn’t doubt that you could handle the situation to perfection.” she said, without breaking eye contact with him at all. A dark aura surrounded her, yet very different from Lucile and Lucy’s. The odd thing about Moon was that her body was very still, not even her chest moved as an indicator that she didn’t need to breathe. Air for her was useless, but so was a lot of things.

She peeked at the table, noticing the books he were reading. She went past him and moved the book around so she could see it properly:” Have you been doing some homework?” she asked rather curiously, before turning to him again. There was no need to stay hooded anymore so she took off the hood revealing her face. Her and Lucile weren’t much alike, except for the eyes which seemed to have the same features, except no matter how empty Lucile’s eyes could look, Moon’s eyes easily topped it off.
That was what Moon hated the most about herself. For her, faking emotions were easy. She had faked her happiness her entire life, covering for all the neglect, the let downs and the downside of her own race. The one thing she couldn’t fake was the emptiness of her eyes, they were like windows, hiding nothing at all. She smiled lightly and looked at him:” I know that Lucile might have said some things about me.” She said, taking off her backpack and dropping it on the table. She had an idea of the words that were said, but for her, it was all a guessing game. She couldnt possibly know what was said, but she did know how her sister worked.
That’s why I’ve come here. To keep a clean slate. Not that I have to prove anything to you, at all. I really don’t. But I found something interesting that you might also want to have a look at.” She continued, opening the bag to check on the content. She however closed it again and turned towards Nicholas:” But first, I’d like to test you... simple tasks, really.. If you don’t mind it, of course. I wouldn’t force you to do anything.” She said before opening the bag, pulling out an old notebook. She lifted it up for him to see the title on it. With big dried up bloody letters the book’s name was LUCILE.

He was noticing lately that he had become quite protective of Lucile, he was always protective of his patients, that came with the job. But Lucile wasn't a patient, and its was more than just protective, it was almost like he was being aggressive towards possible threats to her. He felt this as she spoke, calming down and relieving an exhale. He didn't even know Moon, and yet he was this angry at her. She was right, there was nothing she could do, not really. But that wasn't why he reacted, back there, in the alley, she seemed so cold, like she had absolutely no concern for Lucile's safety. "You're right.." He paid no attention to her second sentence, it was either an excuse or an attempt to be friendly. Either way, even if it had been a long time since he had seen Lucile, he didn't forget what she said. "The flayer of Etermia, my sister’s ally." It was stuck in the back of his head, it would be hard gaining his trust, if possible at all. The longer he looked at her, the more there was something off about her, sorrow maybe, hard to tell just yet. As she walked past him he remained still, looking straight ahead, thinking, trying to figure out why she was here. When she asked about his studies he turned around, thinking she wouldn't care about helping Lucile so he didn't say anything about it. "Yeah, getting closer to a solution, but still a while to go." Finishing the rest of the sentence in his head "Not that you would care" He noticed his spitefulness, but he couldn't help it, not when it was about Lucile. He could finally see her face clearly, and then he saw it, her eyes, there was nothing there, like she was lacking a soul, or emotions. He took note of it as his look turned into a stare, trying to figure her out as she talked to him. "Actually it was Lucy, but yeah.. she did." He had no intention of telling her what though, not yet anyway.

As she dropped her backpack on the table, he walked closer to her, curious to what she had with her, which also spiked his curiosity about why she was here, what was her play? A clean slate, something for him? Nah, he didn't believe that, she wanted something from him. What she said only made him more cautious of her. "Uh huh.." he wanted to say more but he waited to see what she had in the bag first, not making any false assumptions. And there it was, she didn't want to give him anything, nor help. She wanted something done for her, "Simple tasks.." A grin showed on his face as he shook his head, disappointing. "I wouldn’t force you to do anything." Of course not, it's not like she wasn't going to give him something he couldn't refuse, making him do something for her. This was not the first time someone made a deal like this to him. She picked up the book and held it up for him, his expression went from disappointment to dead. He didn't need any introduction to what book it was, as soon as he saw the title, "LUCILE" he knew what she was holding. It would be the missing information to the transfer. As he was about to grab hold of it and look, he stopped himself, he knew it wasn't that easy. "Simple tasks, remember" He got a hold of himself again and look at her with passive aggressive face. "She was right wasn't she?.. You really are a friend of Ramsey, oh wait, let me guess, an ally, not friend... like that matters. Doesn't make you any less responsible.. Do you know how many people suffered because of him? How many that have died here, in this house? What am i even saying, of course you do. You just don't care right? Not your problem, you don't know them so why would you care.. Am i right?" He knew he was way out of line, but it felt good letting it out, he wasn't sorry for it. "Actually never mind, i don't really care about whatever excuses you tell yourself, just tell me what i have to do to get the book" He sat down on one of the chairs, ready for whatever tasks she had for him. This was not an ordinary book for his studies, this could be the final piece of the puzzle to to help Lucile and Lucy. He would go to great lengths getting that information, even breaking his oath if he had to, after all, this was about Lucile, there was no priorities above her..

She felt how much hate he harboured for her. In a way it really annoyed her, seeing that he had one resource, and not exactly the most reliable one. His hatred however was feeding her. As a shadow creature, her only source of energy was feeding off on other creatures feelings. She did not need air, food or warmth and cold. She was soulless and empty, a walking vessel with no meaning. She could live forever but what was her purpose? Well she knew what her purpose now was, but she had been lost for so long before she met the most valued people in this very district.
As he spoke about her in such an ill manner, she felt the anger crawl through her. She clenched her teeth, yet she let him finish talking, no matter how angry it seemed to make her. When he was done speaking, she stomped on her way to him, before she in one motion quickly raised her hand before smacking him across the face, not with all her force, but enough for it to at least sting:” Don’t ever call him my ally again! Do you understand?! I had no part in my father’s dirty deeds, nor am I responsible for what that monster went around and did.” She exclaimed furiously while staring him in the eyes.
You got a lot of fricking nerve, accusing me for something that you CLEARLY don’t know a thing about!” she shouted before slamming the book on the table. Her shoulders were shaking from the sudden anger, but she managed to regain her posture before her ability activated. She wasn’t there to fight, she told herself over and over. She looked away and felt a tear drop from her cheek. She shook her head:” I don’t have to explain myself to you… But let me tell you this. I fled after I was tricked into committing my first murder. I was torn apart to be assembled on my own. Nothing that I have experienced, will ever match what my sister has been through. But I care about her… believe it or not. I care about a lot of things.” she said with her voice shaking at some parts.
Her next words were filled with sorrow:” A couple of months ago, I had no idea she even existed. Do you know how finding this book makes me feel? This book is filled with the words of the monster that mutilated my sister, why he did it and exactly how she reacted to it, and you think I approved of it?” she then threw the book onto his chest, not a hard throw, but more like a throw that distinguished her disappointment. She picked up her backpack and shook her head:” I thought better of you, but I guess I was wrong. Keep the book.” She said toneless before she started to walk out towards the door. She would allow many things to be said, but this was too much for her. It had really hit a nerve or more like a nerve that spread to all nerves. She was just pissed.

Just as he finished his angry speech towards her, she gets up to him and smacks him across the face hard enough to leave a mark, turning his head all the way to the side. As bad as it seemed, it was a good thing, and something he had coming. It snapped him out of his misplaced anger. What had he done.. in all the years, anger never consumed him as much as it had now. He didn't even know her, yet he lashed out at her because there was a chance she was an ally of Ramsey. But it seemed deeper than that. After he saw Lucile break down back then, it was like he was on a warpath, showing no mercy for anything that might get to her. But after Moon slapped him he realized what he had done. He can barely look her in the eyes as she continued to yell at him, he saw how angry she was, she was even shaking from it. But it was all understandable, what he accused her of was horrible, and she was right, he didn't know anything about it, he let his emotions get the better of him. She looked away but he kept looking at her as she continued to talk. She was a victim as well.. "What the hell is wrong with me, how could i have been this wrong..." She wasn't as cold as he thought, as a matter of fact she was quite the opposite of what he thought of her. He saw it now, if she didn't care about Lucile, then why was she at the ally? why would she give her the food? and why was she here, to give him the book that would solve his problems. But he was an idiot, he let anger take control, and saw the worst case scenario in everything. He could feel the guilt so bad he had trouble swallowing.

He was in a coma state, he didn't even see the book she threw at him before it hit him, he didn't even care about the book at this moment, he had to make it right again, undo his wrongdoings. As she walked past him he got up and grabs her by the wrist carefully "Moon wait" He feels the shame creeping up his back. "I'm sorry.. i had no idea, there is no excuse for what i said and you have every reason to hate me. I don't deserve your forgiveness but please let me make it up to you, let me make it right." He could never hope for her forgiveness, he didn't want it because he wasn't worthy of it. "Stay. please.." He could see the hate for him radiate from her, every bit of it was justified. He had to make things right, the anger blocked his sight, she was a person, like everyone else. And he just hit her with the worst he could and for what? he couldn't even think of a reason for it, because there was none, anger never had a reason. He wanted to get to know her, not because he felt bad for what he did, nor because she was Lucile's sister. But because she seemed like a genuine good person. He hoped in time he could make up for what he did, but he knew that could take a long time, and he was prepared for it, even if she would hate him forever, at least he could help her as much he was able. He looked at her with shame written all over his eyes, the first time they meet and he shows her his worst side, great start...

She did expect him to snap out of the hatred, but she knew that her reaction couldn’t have been faked. She felt his hand around her wrist as she was on her way out, to which she stopped and looked ahead while listening to him talk. It made her realize that she wasn’t behaving how she normally would’ve, and somehow she was thankful that he had stopped her. She turned her head with a smile on her face:” Hey now. Dont worry, I understand. I don’t carry any ill will against you.” She said with a cheerful voice.
After a while she looked towards the door:” Grab your jacket doctor. And tools.. They’ll be needed. We’re still going to have to see to those tasks of mine.” She said before walking out. She looked around and rubbed her boot around in the dirt, listening to the stones crunch underneath her foot while she waited for him. If he complied, which she was certain that he would, she would nod at him shortly before she would start walking down the street. She looked around at the buildings, the people as she walked.
I have lived a long time. Long enough to understand the means of a mortal life. Some people are lucky to taste the riches. Others the filth that follows poverty.” She suddenly said after walking in silence for some time. She looked at Nicholas with an unreadable expression. However it wasn’t really what she wanted to talk about. What good would it do anyway? It wouldn’t make the poor people richer. So she started talking about something relevant:” Lets say that Lucy isn’t actually just a split personality. Would you attempt to reverse the whole thing, if that was even a possibility, that is.” she asked with a certain curiosity yet an underlying worry that was barely noticeable. But she did worry for the sake of her sister.

By an alley she stopped, lifting her hand onto Nicholas’ chest as a signal to stop as well. She looked down the alley for a split second before she went in it without a word. Down the alley, she had spotted two shadows and she had decided to check it out. What met her, angered her. It was a blood demon viciously mangling another being. All of a sudden, a tentacle-like sort of slight beam came out between her shoulder blades, clearly not affecting her clothes at all. The beam had a light glow to it but it was wise not to touch it.
The blood demon looked up, blood all over her face with a hungry look:” Human…” she muttered, staring hungrily at Nicholas. Before Moon could do anything, the blood demon rushed forward, wanting to eat her new meal. The beam shot forward, meeting the demon on the halfway, wrapping itself around her neck, causing her to scream in horror and pain. Moon walked towards the demon with a disgusted look on her face:” You think this place is some sort of feeding ground for you?” she asked even though she knew the demon wouldn’t answer, not with the burning sensation of having the beam touching her skin. She looked back at Nicholas.
First task. Save the victim of this demon.” She said in a cold voice, not pointed towards him, but more because she turned her attention back to the demon as she spoke. The victim, a young female barely clutching on the ropes of life due to the amount of damage the demon caused.

A friend of my sister, is a friend of mine too. That's a thing right? - Nicholas Empty
PostSubject: Re: A friend of my sister, is a friend of mine too. That's a thing right? - Nicholas   A friend of my sister, is a friend of mine too. That's a thing right? - Nicholas Empty-11Thu Aug 17, 2017 12:02 am

Whatever she had in mind, he would be happy to help her now that he could see clearly. As she turned around he noticed she seemed cheerful, maybe she understood then, or maybe she was faking it on behalf of him. Either way it was good to see her smile again. "Heading out?" With his tools? Was someone wounded or ill? He didn't hesitate a second before gathering his tools and some morphine just in case. He hid the book among his other books in the shelf, then grabbed his coat on the way out and met Moon outside, locking the door. "Lead the way" He followed her lead, walking beside her as they headed to wherever she was taking him. She seemed to know what she was talking about, he had no idea about her age, but she had to have been here for a long time the way she spoke, but he disagreed with what she said. She was not entirely wrong in his opinion, but it was not how he saw things. After all, he grew up in a poor family, him and his brother resorted to pick pocketing to survive, yet when he discovered what he was meant for, poverty didn't stop him from becoming a successful doctor. Until he then fucked it up later.. "I believe you make your own luck in life, good things don't come to you if you just sit and wait" She changed subject into something he actually knew the answer to. "Yes, without a doubt, it's what I've been working on since i met her, and the book you gave me might be the solution to our problem. I'm sure Lucy was her own person before they were fused together, but i don't have any proof of that, even she doesn't believe it."

Just as he finished she stopped him with her hand, looking into an alley. "Why'd we stop?" But she just started walking down the alley, so he followed her. As they got close enough they saw a Demon feasting on someone. He suddenly had a flashback to when this almost happened to him. He tried to see if the person was alive but it was hard to tell, she was barely moving, if she was at all. Before he could say anything to Moon he noticed a glowing tentacle like thing formed from her back which shocked him, taking a step back from her. He had never seen nor heard of an ability like that, it was beautiful yet horrifying at the same time. He saw the way the demon looked at him, he knew what she was thinking but he stood his ground, even as she ran for him he had full confidence in Moon, and it paid off. Moon incapacitated the demon without a fight. This was one of the tasks? Where they just going around the district looking for people to help? That was something he planned on doing when he was new here, because he knew people were dying all across the district everyday. The reason he didn't was because if he was confronted with someone like this demon he wouldn't be able to do anything. Lacking both strength and technique, besides he wouldn't kill anyone.

Just before he ran for the victim he told Moon "Don't kill her, I know what she has done, but she doesn't deserve to die" with a voice that almost sounded like he was pleading for her life. All life mattered to him, whoever they were, whatever they had done. But he had no time discussing it right now, he ran for the victim behind the demon and crouched down. "Hello, hey, stay with me alright?, i will help you, just try to stay awake for me" he said as he check her over for wounds. They were lucky, seemed no arteries were damages, the young girl had lacerations across her face and a chunk missing from her shoulder area, some deeper cuts on her arm and a broken finger, no doubt from trying to fight back. He gently lifted her up and put her against the wall, noticing a blood pool where she had laid, the blood loss was in the danger zone. He opened his bag, getting some disinfectant and bandages, looked her in the eyes as he said "You're going to be alright, don't worry, you are safe now, this will hurt but try to stay awake" he dunked some bandages in the disinfectant and started cleaning the shoulder wound, it was to wide to stitch, it had to be healed from the inside, meaning it would leave a big scar. After cleaning the shoulder he wrapped it in bandages without tightening it. next was the cuts on her arm, they were deep, but miraculously nothing was hit, after some quick cleaning, he grabbed his sewing kit from the bag and started stitching up the wounds. After wrapping the arm in bandages he looked at the finger, it was snapped out of place, but not completely off. he looked around the surroundings for a few seconds, picking up a small stick, breaking it in half and cleaning it with some water from the bag. he grabbed a hold of her finger and looked her in the face "Big breathes alright?" When he saw that she did what he said, he snapped the finger back in place, and the girl let out a loud and painful scream. "It's alright, the worst is over now" he put the stick parts on each side of her finger, wrapping it in bandages so she couldn't use it. The lacerations on her face weren't deep or wide, so he only cleaned the cuts with water and bandages. She had some minor bruises and smaller scrapes but she was alright. "Alright I'm done, she will be fine. What now, where do we take her?" He looked at Moon for guidance on what happened next.

Moon was fuelled by her anger. The beam’s grip on the demons throat tightened second by second. It got so tight that the demon’s agonizing screams from the pain were silenced and she was choking. Then Nicholas pleaded for the demon’s life. She turned her face towards Nicholas yet she was looking at the demon:” Fine. I won’t kill her. But she will pay.” She said as the beam lifted the demon from the ground like a bag of potatoes and slammed her into the brick wall. She turned her head as she heard the demon hit the ground and the beam retracted back into her body. The wall was cracked and chunks had fallen off from the impact of the body.
She turned to Nicholas and hurried her way over there. She opened the girls eyes and looked into them:” She has been drugged. Lift her and bring her along. We’ll take her to my people.” She then said before turning her attention back to the demon, only to see that she was crawling away in pain. A satisfied smile was on her face and she decided to leave it be. The demon would survive the impact but not without a grim reminder. She stopped next to the demon without looking at her as she said:” Next time, feed on someone who deserves it.” She warned her.
It would take a while for them to get to the location, but Moon knew exactly where to go. After all, she spent decades in this city, learning how to make a purpose of her life. But back then she was more goofy, more lively. Thinking back, she sort of missed laughing at her own jokes or fooling around for no purpose either. She knew that she was more like a kid back then, but she definitely didn’t enjoy the role of being an adult. She actually hated being so serious all the time. She yawned as she walked and stretched her arms up in the air.
People used to have more spark in them. Fights back in the day were much more entertaining. But then again, I had no control of these things.” She said lifting her palm up. While she had been speaking, the beam had sneaked its way out, wrapping itself around her arm like a snake. The end of the beam levitated around, behaving as if it had a life of its own:” We were the same, doctor, you and I. I used to think that every life mattered. Everyone deserved a chance at life. I thought I could never kill a thing. No matter how devious the person would be, it wouldn’t be in my place to kill them.” She said, turning her head to him with a serious look on her face.
Her eyes caught the girl’s. Not that the girl was much aware of anything, but somehow it affected Moon into a sorrowful and confused look. She turned her head away:” But then he forced me to kill. Indirectly. Supposedly it was going to be just an illusion. I was too blinded by it, so instead of attacking the illusion, I found the illusionist.” She said, looking back ahead. She wanted to say more, but she didn’t feel quite comfortable to just think about it. However if he were to ask, she would probably answer. But not until then.
She stopped at another alley. This one being bigger than the other and covered by smaller bonfires. She walked in, greeted by some of the people who were sitting up against the wall. At the end, a bigger fire laid on the ground. A man got up and spread his arms out wide as he spotted them. He was tall with muscles, yet a demon aura surrounded him. A scar was placed across his face and by the sharpness of his teeth, it was clear that he was a blooddemon:” Moonie. Fancy seeing you around here. Got tired of the privileged rich life?” he teased with a smile on his face. Moon chuckled and poked his chest as a response as she said:” Why else would I be here? Anyway. This is Doctor Nicholas Dunham. We found this girl on our way here, and I thought she’d fit around these parts.” She then said, turning to Nicholas. The man turned his face, looking Nicholas in the eyes. “Oh, the guy that took care of Lucile. Godday Doctor. My name is Langdon.” He presented him.

He paid no attention to what Moon did with the demon, she agreed not to kill her, which he appreciated, but he had full focus on the patient. and when he was done and Moon came over, she told him to bring her to "her people?" whatever that meant. He gently picks her up and carries her in his arms, another flashback to Lucile. But he shook it off as they had to go, when they past the demon he crouched down next to her, checking if she was in a critical condition but she wasn't, besides Moon probably wouldn't let him help her either way. "I'll follow your lead" he said walking next to her again to wherever they were headed. Thinking back on it she must have the same feelings as Lucile when it came to feeding, not being comfortable with feasting on people, so they try to get the ones that was deserving of it. He couldn't even imagine how he would live if someday he woke up, needing flesh to survive.

He gave a slight chuckle at what she said about fights back in the day. "Hah, yea you might be right, i usually only see the aftermath of the fights so i couldn't tell, i had my share of fighting back in the days of the war, but that's not really the same is it?" For once he remembered the good times back then, the team he was paired up with at the field hospital, the comradery they had. He smiled as he looked at Moon when she spoke how she used to be before, his face became more serious. He knew she was a good person, that wasn't hard to see, being a demon she must have had live his lifetime several times over, so he could understand how it had to affect her. He just hoped he could keep his oath to his demise, but as long as people like Ramsey existed, it became harder to think that he would. As he heard her story he became quite curious to what she had been through, but he was a bit afraid of asking about it, could be sore topic to tread on, so he went about it carefully. He took note of it and would ask her at a better time.

Shorty after they stopped at another alleyway. "What is this place?" as he saw her started walking down the alley. Reminded him of an underground operation for some reason, but that couldn't be it, that wouldn't make much sense here. He looked at the people there, trying to figure this place out, they all seemed to know her. So this was her people? "What are we doing here?" After a short walk she was greeted by a big guy with a scar. He could instantly tell that was a demon, for once a demon that was just like the book described them. He seemed friendly enough, and the way he talked to her, he was probably a friend, so there was no reason to worry about him. "Good evening Mr. Langdon" How did he know Lucile? It was probably rude to interrupt their reunion but he couldn't help but to ask "Lucile? do you know her? has she been here?" he asked with a slight desperate voice, trying to hide it. Almost forgetting why he was here in the first place. He started looking around the place seeing if he saw anything or anyone familiar.

This place is where I come from. Thieves, beggars, spies and whatnot lives in this alley as if it were their home. I lived here before my father found me. They've taught me everything I know about gathering information. This will always be my home, my people.” She answered looking around. Though most people that were sitting around where youngsters and kids, all looking very ill, most of them coughing up blood in their hands. Langdon rubbed his firm hands watching Nicholas get so concerned as soon as Lucile was even mentioned. He couldn’t help but smile a little bit.
I can tell that she’s a pretty big deal for you, but chill. I have never met the girl. But I made the package that she hopefully ate.” He said with a smile on his face. Moon glanced at Nicholas and then uttered in a low voice:” Control your emotions for my sister, they radiate from you like heat. She doesn’t know of this place.” She assured him with a slight smile. Some people came over to relieve Nicholas from the wounded girl before they took her to one of the fires. Moon shortly spoke with one of them, an older woman who seemed to stare oddly at Nicholas.
Moon raised her eyebrow at the old woman before waving her hand in front of her face:” Why are you staring at him?” she bluntly asked, seeing that it was rude of the woman to just stand there and stare in the first place. The old woman didn’t say a word and suddenly just turned her back before returning to the others. Moon shook her head afterwards and looked at Nicholas:” That wasn’t odd and awkward at all.” She murmured to herself but clear enough for Nicholas to understand.
A little girl came by and grabbed Nicholas by his sleeve. Moon looked at her and smiled. She absolutely adored kids, and maybe a tad too much. But it was all because she simply herself would never be able to carry a kid of her own. It was a defect in her body, that occurred during her transition from demon to shadow creature. When she found out, it broke her. She snapped out of her dark thoughts and kneeled down to the girl, stroking her face gently:” You’ll be okay.” She told her and the girl chuckled. Shortly after chuckling, she started coughing very badly. Moon sighed deeply because she knew there was nothing she could do.
I brought you here because most of them are dying., yet the reason is unkown.” She said as she stood up from the girl. “You should probably cover your mouth and nose, just in case.” She warned him as she started walking towards something that reminded her of a tent, yet it was almost radiating an aura filled with sickness. She opened the cover, revealing the ones that had been infected for the longest time. She looked ever so sorrowful as she walked in among the sick, without even worrying for her own health. For Nicholas that might’ve seemed reckless or dumb, but that was because he thought of her as a demon, when she really was a shadow creature, a race that depended on nothing but feeding on other’s feelings. Many people were worried and depressed due to the sickness, so she did seem a lot stronger from going in the tent:" I cant get infected. But you might. So be careful." she warned him once again, just in case he forgot the first warning.

It was clear there was disease here, the coughing, their ill looks. Was this why they were here? It wasn't uncommon for people to have diseases in this district, but there were so many in this one place, like a small epidemic. From the reply it was clear that he had been to obvious about Lucile. "Yeah sorry, i owe her something is all, and yes she did, thank you for that, it really helped." He knew no one would believe his poor excuse, but he said it none the less. He was curious to what the package was made of but figured it was best to not know. Even Moon told him to get a hold of himself. Was he really that obvious? He looks at her with an awkward smile "Ah, right.." looking away immediately. He walked further in as they came and took the wounded girl away, but informing them what wounds she had and what he had done in case they would need it. When done he looks around, seeing ill people everywhere, this was a serious problem wasn't it. As he looks he notices an old lady staring at him and Moon trying to talk to her. By looking at the lady he didn't see anything familiar about her which made him more curious to why she stared at him. But he couldn't think of anything that would make sense, either way, she walked away so it didn't matter. Looking at Moon with a confused look hoping she would know what was up, but instead said something that made him chuckle for a bit and smile. Before he could say anything he felt something dragging his sleeve, and as he looks down his smile gets wider. He crouches down to the little girl. "Hey there little one, you're pretty strong for your age you know that?" It was good seeing children again, they were all sick but still. He never got tired of the little devils. When she started coughing he pulled out a rag from his vest under the coat and handed it to her. "Here, take this." Still smiling at the little girl holding her shoulder gently "I'm sure this will pass in not too long, don't you worry" Trying to encourage the girl a bit. Dying? This was serious indeed, he ran through several known diseases in his mind trying to think of what caused this. But he had to know more about it first.

"It's alright, I've been around my share of diseases before." Why didn't she cover up? Demons could be infected as well couldn't they? He followed her to a something that looked like a mass tent, maybe he could get some answers in there, a doctor to talk to and see what was known so far. Before going in he took one extra look at the little girl, giving off a sad look, hoping she would be alright. As she lifted up the covers a smell hit him in the face like a brick. He smell he was familiar with, this was an equivalent of a quarantine area, the people here were dying or dead. He covered his lower face with his sleeve as he was about to stop Moon. But before he could she said she couldn't be infected. Which didn't make any sense, unless she wasn't a demon. She was Lucile's sister wasn't she? Then what was she? He took her word for it, there was a lot he wanted to ask her about but this wasn't the time for that conversation. He started walked among the ill, looking at what the disease had done to them, but it could be a million things, unless he knew more about it it was like shooting in the dark, several diseases had the same symptoms, so any information would be useful. After looking around he turned back at Moon "Where's the doctor? The person taking care of the people here." Then he had a thought, the guy at the entrance was clearly a demon, she grew up here, with these people, and she had lived a long life, was everyone here a demon, could the old woman be staring at him because he was the only human there? "Wait, is everyone here a demon? or at least those infected?" He had an idea of what the disease could be, and if it was what he thought, then there was a cure for it. Getting a hand on it would be hard though. But he waited for the answer before he continued that train of thoughts.

Langdon saw right though him right away:” We all owe something to a pretty girl, doctor” he blinked at him, shortly before he got a serious look on his face and went away. Moon didn’t say a thing at all. However, she did give Nicholas a sceptic look, but that was because she could read his emotions like an open book. She shook her head with a smile on her face when they were left alone:” Now… that’s interesting” she teased, short before pushing his shoulder lightly with a chuckle.
She was soon going to miss the happy mood. She observed how he behaved around the kid. It only made her smile a little bit:” Have you ever thought of retiring? Settle down somewhere and have a family?” she asked curiously as they walked towards the tent and also just to get her mind on something else. Stepping inside, she knew that no small talk could push her thoughts away when she was standing in the middle of it.
When he asked for the doctor, she ripped off a linen from a long deceased body:” Dead. He wasn’t careful when examining the carrier of the disease.” She said staring at the face of the doctor. What Nicholas said next, she didn’t hear. Her eye caught a child’s face in the corner of her view, and then she saw them all. All the small kids that had died from the illness where just put in a pile at the end of the tent. She didn’t look at them, she kept her stare at the doctor on the table. She seemed a bit zoned out, clenching her teeth, before she suddenly just threw off the body from the table:” Fucking… useless.” She mumbled angrily. Yet after realizing what she had just done, she turned to Nicholas shortly with a sad expression before she went out of the tent to collect her thoughts.
They’re only kids…” she mumbled to herself, massaging her temples in a desperate manner. This all reminded her of the earthquake that were in Doomsville. The little girl that she tried to dig out of the rubble, only to realize that anything but the face had been crushed underneath the stone. Yet the girl had looked so peaceful, as if she was sleeping. Moon stared at the ground shortly before looking up, seeing the little girl cough. “All the kids in there are dead… But she still has a chance. A life ahead of her.” She told herself, but she didn’t quite have the courage to go in there and confront it once again. It would be better off with her outside anyway. Nicholas would be able to work in peace. Her shoulders were shaking lightly before she sat down with her back against the tent.

A family? he looked at the ground as they walked. "I have, I tried, Didn't work out." he said quickly then looked at her. "Besides, if i tried again, who would take my place? No, i can't be that selfish.." His thoughts went to Lucile again, but this wasn't the time, not now. He had to focus on the task at hand. This had to affect Moon, it really seemed like it did, a lot. It affected him, but not as much anymore, he had learned to deal with this through experience, this was far from his first time dealing with this. He had been apart of epidemics, wars, gang wars. He had seen more death than he could count. But despite of all that, children always got to him, he could turn off his emotions all he wanted and switch on the doctor, but when he saw children dying.. there was no going around that. She showed him the doctor in charge, dead, on a table. He looks down on the ground as he drags his hand across his face. "Amateur.. goddammit" This would make it harder, he had to talk to the infected themselves now, study them. At least he knew the bacteria had attacked their lungs, explaining the bloody coughs, that helped narrow down the diseases. He saw how angry she was as she pushed off the body. This place had a great impact on her, and why wouldn't it? there was dying and dead children everywhere. "Maybe you should get some air Moon? I'll be out shortly" He looked at her with a reassuring expression as she walked out. He had to know the answer to the question but doing some investigating would help either way.

He reached into the bag and pulled up a medical mask in case the disease was airborne. He turn around and stared at the pile of dead children. How could they treat them like that, like garbage.. He walked over to the pile, looking at what seemed to be the most recent one, trying to figure out what killed him. It would be hard to determine the cause without an autopsy, but he hoped he could avoid that. All of them were skin and bones, cause of death would be malnutrition, organ failure, sepsis. The bacteria seemed to eat them from the inside. He got up and walked around, looking for someone that only recently had been put in here. He sees a child looking at him with scared eyes, so he approaches him, crouches down and holds his hand as he talks to him with a smile. "Hello little man, hang in there alright, we will figure this out in no time." He clenches his teeth as he swallows, it was hard keeping the smile up when looking at the pain the kid was in. But he had to know, he had a short chat with the child, what he was experiencing, what he had been through. And after thanking him he stood up and walked towards the entrance to the tent. He had narrowed it down to two suspects. It was either one that he had encountered before or the Demon sickness. It would make sense if it was the one from before seeing as the corpses were children, because the immune system was not fully developed, which meant the bacteria could run freely. But he couldn't assume anything before he knew. giving the wrong treatment could be fatal. so he had to be sure.

When he walks outside he drags the mask down so it was hanging around his neck, he sees Moon sitting to the left, up against the tent. Looking at her with a sad expression, it was one thing that he had to deal with stuff like this, but that was in his job description, he signed up for this. But it made him sad that she had to go through it as well  "I'm sorry you have to experience this." He walks up next to her, crouching down "This is going to be hard, but we have to either bury or burn the dead. Having them there will only make it worse for those yet clinging to life, and besides, they deserve better.." He sees her look at the little girl they encountered earlier, and places a hand on her shoulder as he looks at the girl. "She's going to be alright, we will fix this, she will walk away from this.." He said convincingly, as if he knew she would make it. But in truth he didn't, there was no way of telling yet. "I have narrowed it down but i have to know, the people infected here, are they demons? And don't guess, i can't act until i know." He looked Moon in the eyes, he didn't want to rush her, all this was a lot to take in so he was patient with her.

It was horrifying. Watching all the kids with no future whatsoever, because they were already dead. It felt so unfair, so crude. This was the reality of the world. Not every kid would get to grow up, rather it be through starvation, murder or sickness. She was surprised that she had managed to live through it all. But she had no memory of her old life. Other than implanted fake memories that would seem warm, but were quite cold to the touch. You couldn’t fake the feelings of a memory in the same way. There would always be a crack in the mirror of the memory.
She didn’t notice him coming out until he crouched in front of her. She looked at him with her eyes, filled with the emptiness of her missing soul. Small cracks had formed their way down from her eyes, like a doll that has been broken. It was her inability to cry, instead a burning sensation hurt her eyes and cheeks. She looked away from him, not wanting him to see it. It would heal quicker than it got there, but it would require her to stop herself from wanting to cry. The pain didn’t exactly help either.

After a while of the burning pain, she turned her face to face him. Her bottom lip was shaking from pain, her mouth being slightly open showed her clenched teeth. She listened to him yet her eyes light up in some sort of confusion by his request. However she just nodded and turned her look to Langdon and some others that were standing close by:” Langdon. Rip some old shirts that have not been touched by the infection and cover yourselves. Gather all the dead bodies and…” she stopped herself from talking, looking around to realize that there was no way that the bodies could be buried.
The cracks in her cheeks deepened and her eyes starting twitching from the pain. She looked down and rubbed her hands together to lead her thoughts on that. “Burn them.” She said in a darker more sinister voice. She opened her eyes as she looked up on them. A slight smile formed on her lips as she looked at Nicholas:” I hope I don’t frighten you for what I’m about to do.” she said before getting up. She seemed different now, as if a dark part of her had woken up from their slumber.
She stretched her arms out to the sides as she yawned lightly:” This is just the job for me.” she said in a satisfied voice as she walked back into the tent. It was clear now that she seemed to feast on the negative emotions surrounding the tent. She grabbed two men by the collar of their necks before she without a struggle pulled them both out. Soon a couple of demons with their faces covered joined in, placing the bodies in a pile by the corner of the alley.
Langdon stopped next to Nicholas, looking confused at the demons and Moon, working to get the bodies out:” You know. You never truly know her. She can change like a switch. I guess it’s the downside of her big change.” he said rubbing his chin. He looked at Nicholas and smiled because he was expecting a confused look:” I’m just gonna go ahead and guess she never told you. She used to be a demon. The sweetest little demon, that even my heart would melt around her. I would have to reassure her every time, that the meat wasn’t from a kill, for her to eat it. She believed in everyone’s strength. She was the only positive impact in this place. We're all demons, you see.” He said, smiling at the memories:” But she changed. Oh, she changed. I forgot when. Maybe it happened over years. I don’t know. But her empty eyes. She lost her soul and the positive spark around her.” He continued before stopping. He looked at Nicholas, expecting a question or some sort of reaction.

PostSubject: Re: A friend of my sister, is a friend of mine too. That's a thing right? - Nicholas   A friend of my sister, is a friend of mine too. That's a thing right? - Nicholas Empty-11Fri Aug 18, 2017 12:16 am

What he saw on her face was something he didn't understand, maybe that was because he didn't know what she was, she seemed so sorrowful, yet the eyes were empty, no tears. He saw cracks and got worried for her, but again, he didn't know what it meant, other than having something to do with sadness. After she told the men what to do, her voice changed, she was clearly different from before. It caught him off guard, but he wasn't frightened, only worried for her. What did she mean a job for her? And with such a happy tone? He'd think she wouldn't want to be anywhere near the pile. "Moon?..." he said under his breath as she got up and walked in the tent. And just as he saw her drag the two bodies out he stared at her like he'd never met her. She seemed like the opposite from before, dark, no emotion.
It reminded him of himself back at the field hospital in the war. He had seen too much death already, they were clearly loosing the war, but that didn't stop them from throwing lives at the undead. You couldn't have emotions if you wanted to keep your sanity, several soldiers and doctors had deserted, understandably so. A squad arrived at the hospital needing a medic for a mission, which happened from time to time if it wasn't to risky, seeing as they couldn't afford to loose doctors. The mission went to shit and they barely got away, half the squad had been wiped out and one was critically wounded, Nicholas did what he could with the tools he, but the soldier didn't survive, his partner cracked, broke down, seemed like his biggest loss, but Nicholas felt nothing, he had turned of his human side along time before that, maybe it was forced off. But that memory was stuck to his mind when he looked at Moon, is that was was happening to her? The trauma being to big, so she shut down her emotions?

He didn't even notice Langdon stop next to him before he spoke, which snapped him out of the stare on Moon. "Her change?" He looked confused at at him, expecting him to explain more. At least now he knew more about the package, and Moon, sounded like Lucile back in the day, maybe it wasn't as far fetched that they were sisters. but what he said give him more questions than answers. "So you're all demons, that's good to know.. But if Moon's not a demon.. What is she? And how did she change?" He was conflicted, the doctor in him tried to to make him focus on the task, several lives were at stake. But he couldn't stop worrying about Moon. "Also, when did the infections start?" He had many questions for him, but he would let him answer before he overwhelmed him with them. This place almost seemed like a refugee camp of sorts. But maybe that was only because of the disease, he hasn't seen the place at its prime. The whole time he was speaking with Langdon, he had been looking in Moon's direction several times with a worried look on his face.

He looked at Nicholas, awaiting the inevitable question. When it came, he smiled, yet it was a smile filled with sorrow:” Does shadow creature ring a bell, doctor? You know, the race that isn’t of this world, but created to be here. They neither sleep, eat, freeze, or sweat. All they feast upon is feelings of the living. The negative ones, that is.” He said, turning his head towards Moon. “She tried to hide it, pretending as if she never changed. But her eyes are the windows of her true nature.” As he finished, Moon looked up and at Nicholas, as if she had heard the whole conversation. “The infections started about a week ago. It spread fast among the young. A few of the older demons, including our doctor caught it. But it started with the kids.” He explained before turning his attention back to the hardworking Moon.
Her cheeks were completely healed, as if nothing had happened. After a while of pulling out the dead, the tent was empty. The bodies had been piled up in the middle of the alley. Moon walked around the pile, making sure everything was in place. She went to a cart and grabbed a bottle with some brown liquid. She glanced at Nicholas before grinning, throwing the bottle at the pile. Shortly after she grabbed a nearby stick from a fire, not caring that the fire was hurting her hand. She threw the burning stick on the pile, setting it on fire.
She glanced at her hand, stretching it to feel the pain of the burns. She grinned at the feeling shortly before she exhaled. “Sooooo~ Exciting! Now that that’s done…. What now?” she suddenly exclaimed, turning to Langdon and Nicholas. She suddenly walked over to them, stopping in front of Nicholas, almost too close. She lifted her hurt hand and looked at it:” I don’t think Moon would like this very much… When she comes back, that is. Do you mind?” she said, reaching her hand out to him to look at. The damage was minimal, but left untreated would leave a scar.
Oh I completely forgot to introduce myself. You might think that my sister and I are very much alike. But. We’re really not. Who I am, isn’t another person. There’s no other person than Moon in this body. However. I am the part of her caused by her change. I am her true nature, the one that she pushed so far back her skull, that it took a murder to get me out. And boom here we are… Two sides of the same person.” She explained. “Anyway. Tell me what to do. As long as it’s fun. Otherwise I’m gonna go and find my own fun.” She said with a rather serious expression before stepping back.

"Shadow creatures..." He thought back, yeah, he knew about them, but only from his studies, his books. He had never heard of one, nor encountered one, to his knowledge at least. But his knowledge was limited of them, so the new information Langdon gave him was good. It explained a lot about her, feeding of emotions, back at the house, the fight, the tent... no wonder she was acting like this. "A few weeks huh" he said with a worried voice, the life expectancy of the children in the tent just dropped from what he had hoped. "How haven't i heard about this until now? i don't live far away from here." It really bothered him that he didn't know about this sooner, he could have been here earlier, maybe saved some of the children on the pile that she was about to set ablaze. Was this how every shadow creature behaved when fueled by negative emotions? She was enjoying burning children.. He had no experience with any shadow creature before Moon, so there was several theories about them spinning in his head, until one stuck, one he didn't like. The way she acted, it reminded him of Ramsey... was he a shadow creature? Or was this just a coincidence? He really hoped she wasn't anything like him. This had to be discussed with Moon, when she wasn't... like this, whatever this was. When he saw her grab the burning wood he leaned slightly to Langdon "I guess they don't feel pain either" giving off a nervous chuckle, trying to hid the fact he was actually scared of her, not because he thought she would hurt him, but because she was clearly out of control, she could hurt others, or herself, like she was doing right now.

As she approached them she looked almost creepy, despite everything he knew, she was still so not like the Moon he knew. "What now?" Good question, at the moment everything was pure speculation, but he had a good idea on what it was. "Moon?" Wait, this was all too familiar to him, was she like Lucile, two people in one body?. He looked at her with a seriously question mark written on his face. He took her hand into his own and started using his ability, the burns wasn't severe so it didn't take long, it lasted until she finished talking. So she wasn't like Lucile after all then. She was more like what he thought Lucile was before he knew her. Someone pretty much everyone had, a defensive mechanism of the brain, taking over in stressful situations. Except hers was beyond that, she seemed ruthless, no remorse. And it seemed that she was made after Moon was tricked into killing, It fit the description. But her true nature? Nah, that wasn't true, he didn't believe that. He wasn't surprised she said that being the person that came out when the host couldn't handle the situation, seemed like there would be truth to it. But he knew it wasn't her true nature was Moon, the loving demon that wouldn't eat her food if it was killed. But there was no point in telling that to this person, it would have no effect. He let go of her hand seeing as it had been healed. There was no way he would let her go on whatever rampage she was thinking of. He had to find a task for her, whatever it was, he couldn't let her leave, not like that. A last resort would be to sedate her, however he would manage that. "We need to give more food and water to the infected, the disease is making them malnourished, we have to keep it at bay for as long as we can until we find out what it is." He turned to Langdon and gestured him to follow as they stepped away from Moon. He tells him with a low voice "I need to talk to you when she's not watching us" Hoping he would be on his side, seeing how she acted.

She looked rather surprised when he started healing her hand. She laughed shortly before looking at her healthy hand:” Wow! That was pretty cool! I might want to test your ability… Lets see how well you can heal this..” she suddenly said before pulling out a blade from her hoodie. She lifted up her sleeve in one motion before pushing the blade down from wrist to elbow, creating a large cut. She clenched her teeth from the pain, yet she didn’t give off any other reaction to it. It wasn’t that she didn’t feel it, she surely did. But it was more satisfying than it hurt.
However, she quickly thought of something else. So before she’d even reach the wounded arm out for Nicholas to heal, she turned on her heels and walked into the tent, forgetting all about the bleeding arm. Langdon kept his eyes on Moon till she went out of sight, hoping that she wasn’t up to something bad yet, he looked at Nicholas:” Yes? You have to be quick. She is… very unstable.” He said, clearly not aware that she would be this sinister.
A kid sat on a table, coughing blood up in their hands. Moon went to the kid, looking him in the eyes before placing the blade on the table. It wasn’t her intention to hurt the kid, yet. All it would take for her was thinking about it. For now she was just looking at him, narrowing her eyes at him in a sceptic look. “Hi there little fella.” She greeted him, lifting a hand to his face before brushing some of his hair away. The kid looked at her, then to notice the bleeding arm. It startled him a little, causing him to scream and attempt getting away from her. Which was rather understandable, given the dripping blood from her hand. She grabbed him by the shoulders, causing him to sit still.
Langdon outside had been surprised by the sudden scream from the tent:” Uh. She has never.. behaved like this.. Before.” he said with a worried voice watching the tent. He wouldn’t let her be alone in there with the kids, so he walked in there. When he saw Moon holding the kid, all alarm bells were ringing in his head:” MOON.” he yelled before running towards her. Moon turned her face towards Langdon, before the beam quickly sled out of her shoulder blades and bashed him back. “Stay away from us. We’re just chitchatting.” She said angrily. She then looked to Nicholas who had probably entered at the same time as Langdon.
As much as she wanted to, the beam wouldn’t hurt him if he got near her. She would just stare at him while holding the frightened kids shoulders. Her expression would be confused. But that would only be if he had the courage to attempt to stop her. The blood was still dripping, but because her arm was lifted, the blood dripped from the middle of the sleeve, which meant that the whole sleeve was already soaked. It wouldn’t take long for it to become critical if not fatal.

He didn't think the ability would give off that reaction, seeing as Moon had to know about it, but maybe that personality didn't. Test his ability, that didn't sound good, he knew what was coming next as she slit her wrist from hand to elbow. He knew his ability could only do so much, they way she was going, the ability wouldn't be enough. "What the hell are you doing!?" He exclaimed with a shocked face. Just as he reached out for her arm, trying to pull her towards him so he could fix the wound before it got out of hand, she gave him the slip and ran for the tent, which made him all the more worried seeing as there was children in there. he knew this would happen. "Alright, i hoped it wouldn't come to this, but we clearly don't have a choice, I will have to sedate her, we both know she is stronger than me, maybe even you, i don't know. But if i fail to do it, then you have to help me. If i get knocked out, or worse.. look in my bag, there are three syringes, any of them works, just aim for her jugular." They heard the scream from the child, fearing the worst. "Goddammit, alright we do this now" It would have been so much better if he had the syringe close at hand, rather than it being in the bag, that complicated things, but he had to improvise.

He picked up the bag and as they got into the tent he saw her with the child he stopped, any rash movement could be bad for the little one. Langdon apparently didn't think like him and ran for her. Luckily he got the blow and not the kid. "Listen to me alright? There is no need for this, the kid is already ill, i cant cure diseases with my ability, and hurting him will only hasten the disease." He starts slowly walking towards her, looking her in the eyes as he spoke, his voice is shaky "Let me heal your arm, then we can talk about our next move, you are loosing a lot of blood and the size of that will take some time to heal" He manages to get close to her, he drops the bag behind her so he has an excuse to get out of her sight for a brief moment. "I need some bandages to slow the bleeding down while i do my healing" he steps behind her avoiding the glowing tentacle taking a roll of bandage and a syringe, putting the roll in front of her with his left hand as a distraction "Alright, lets start" He says before he immediately moves his right hand with the syringe as quick as he can for her jugular. This is it, if he fails there won't be another opportunity, not unless Langdon gets up and keeps her occupied.

She just stared at him while he was moving towards her, sort of like a prey observing the predator, though the roles itself were reversed. The beam moved closer around him, removing any form of escape. She let go of the kid before, looking at his left hand. Yet it seemed too much like bait. She wasn’t stupid. So when he tried to inject her with the syringe, she grabbed him by the hand. A grin was on her face and she couldn’t help but laugh:” I wasn’t born yesterday doctor.” She said before pushing him backwards, just by his wrist.
For a shadow creature that had gotten as much energy as she did, even though her freshly made wound was making her weaker and weaker, the feelings that she had consumed made her stronger than that. She forced his behind against a table, considering what she could do that would make this more interesting. She grabbed the syringe out of his hand and placed it towards his neck, more like a threat than anything. She lifted her wounded arm:” Heal it.” she demanded, with a smile on her face. All this was just a game to her.
The beam retracted into her, she became aware that she was getting weaker, yet she didn’t want to give it away. Langdon however, had gotten back up on his feet and grabbed Moon as fast as he could. She didn’t want to completely lose, so as her reaction to hearing Langdon move towards them, she pressed the syringe in Nicholas’ throat, only getting to inject a little bit, before she got dragged away. She laughed in a sinister manner, without even fighting back:” Doctor, I must say, you have been way more fun than anyone else. And I didn’t even have to hurt you!” she said in a calm tone.
But there was only half a truth to what she said. In reality it wasn’t that she didn’t want to hurt him. She was intending to, but the other Moon had just as much control as she did, after all, they were one and the same. The evil Moon just didn’t have a filter and had embraced her evil nature, while Moon was still very conflicted. Langdon sat her down on a chair, tying her to it with tight ropes.
What the hell is wrong with you Moon. This isn’t you. Where is the girl that used to refuse harming anyone?” Langdon asked angrily. Moon looked up at him and laughed:” Oh. Sorry to pop your bubble, but this is actually who I am supposed to be. This is my true nature. I feed off on negative emotions… Sometimes you get tired of waiting for disaster.” she said, staring at Langdon with the same sinister smile as always. She then looked at Nicholas:” How’re we feeling, Doctor?” she asked, winking at him.

Just before he hit her neck, he felt her hand around his wrist, stopping him at the last second. "No, dammit" he said in his head as she laughed at him. This was the moment, whatever happened to him now, it was up to Langdon to finish it. Even if she was bleeding out she still had a lot of strength in her, he felt that in his wrist as she pushed him back into a table, probably leaving a bruise in the lower back. As he feels the needle press up against his throat he leaned his head back, avoiding it as best he could. "I can't heal it with the syringe to my neck" Just as Langdon gets up and starts moving towards her, the syringe pierces his skin and into his throat, pressing some of the sedative in him before she gets dragged off. He was used to morphine for obvious reasons which had made him more resilient to anesthetics, but this was a strong one, meant for knocking people out for a surgery. And it was applied to his neck, which skips the travel time of the drug. What she said didn't get to him, not because he ignored it, but because the drug was already taking an effect on him.

His vision was getting blurry and he had trouble focusing on anything. He started shaking his head, trying to get a clear mind as he shuffled over to his bag, concentrating on not falling. " I'm going to have to do this normally, i can't focus nearly enough as i need to if i am to use my ability" he said with a slight mumble, but clear enough for them to hear it. Slowly crouching down he gets his sewing kit and the roll he had taken out before. "This isn't your true nature, you are a defense mechanism mixed with compressed anger" Trying to provoke her as he slowly made his way to her, hoping she would focusing on talking back at him rather than thinking of breaking loose. It was risky seeing as it could have the opposite effect, but it was worth a try. He handed the syringe to Langdon "Only use it if we have to" he opened the sewing box but with the now clumsy hands dropped the needle on the ground. he focused on his breathing calming down, picking it back up and fixed the threat to its end. Luckily it wasn't too deep all along the cut, so he only had to make a few stitches, closing the wound to a certain degree. But it took longer than usual, stopping several times and shaking his head, trying to stay conscious. After completing the stitch work he wraps it in bandages. From a different perspective fixing her wound would be stupid, she would continue to get weaker if they didn't, which gave them the upper hand. But that didn't matter, it was a person sitting there, not only that, it was Moon, which had grown very dear to him even thought it had only been a day. As he finishes he tries standing up but falls down on his knees again. "I need some air...." he says with a low voice.

She found it hilariously funny that he was having trouble focusing. It was giving her a rush, while she was trying to ignore the something in her that started to call out. She shook her head, trying to stay focused herself, but it was getting rather difficult. Not hurting anything or being in imidiate danger was weakening the sinister side, letting the real Moon peak through the cracks. His provocation worked, she leaned forward laughing as if he had said something funny:” You know. Compressed anger is sort of our thing. We loooove~ it.” she said, then turning her attention to the ropes that had bound her.
She raised an eyebrow shortly before snapping her hands free from the rope. She put her hands on her lap, before exhaling:” Clever… Now I cant get up..” she said with an impressed smile. Her breaking free from the ropes had taken much of her energy. But being in the area that they were, with all the mourning emotions in the air, getting her energy back wouldn’t be her biggest problem. She lifted her arm, letting him stitch it, there was no point in fighting him, and it wouldn’t have been fun anyway.
As he had wrapped her arm up, she had been still for too long. Her eyes were getting heavy and she was zoned out for a while. As he tried to stand, yet failed, she suddenly got up, grabbing him by his shoulders so he wouldn’t fall. She looked up with a slight smile on her face:” Thanks for putting up with me.. I know it wasnt easy.” she excused before dragging his arm around her neck, assisting him in standing. She looked at the ground and walked carefully, seeing that she herself wasn’t the strongest at this point, yet very slowly regaining her strength. Now that the bleeding had stopped, nothing was stopping her from feeding on the emotions around her.
Outside the tent, she helped him sit down before she sat in front of him. She grabbed him by the face, forcing him to look at her:” Nicholas listen. You need to focus and answer this question. We need to find out what has happened here. What was in the syringe? Will it pass? When will it pass?” she asked, slightly worried about how long it was going to take. She wouldn’t let him stay here if it would take a while to pass, no way that she’d risk his safety in an area filled with hungry, starving demons. It would be the death of him. She sighed, as Langdon came out of the tent, looking more surprised than ever.
Do you care to explain what the hell that was?” he asked, very confused. Moon shook her head and looked at Nicholas:” Don’t worry about it Langdon. We need to either get Nicholas back on his feet or the hell out of here.” She answered, looking rather worried.

"What do you mean? Not even a challenge" he said cracking as good of a grin as he could. Being only half conscious as Moon grabbed him and took him outside, he could barely walk even as she helped him. As soon as they got outside he felt the effects dying down, the fresh air was a huge help to getting sober again. As she help his face up, talking to him, he could only smile at her. "Its a strong sedative, made for putting people under before i perform a surgery, but i only got a minor dosage, with the fresh air i should be fine soon." His thoughts came back to him and he could focus more on the task at hand, the disease. "There is not much more i can do right now, but before we go i have to get the blood samples i took from a child in there." pointing at the tent. He had taken it as he spoke to one of the children about how he was. At his lab back home he had samples from every epidemic he had been apart of, including some he got from his suppliers. If he was lucky these samples wound match with one of the ones he had at home, which would speed things up a lot.

After getting the samples and equipment, putting everything in his bag, he was ready to head back home. "Thank you Langdon, for everything, you were a great help, I'll be in touch once I've taken a closer look at the samples" Smiling at him as he started walking out of the alley with Moon, heading for home. "Youknow, despite everything that happened, it was an interesting day." saying before he chuckled lightly at her. He was glad to have met her, oh how wrong he was about her before he today. And would without at doubt call her a good friend. One he hoped to see more of in the future. They still had a lot to talk about. But the priority had to be with the disease for now. As they reached the entrance he looked at her again. "You staying or coming?"

She nodded at what he said. If there was no more to be done here, he'd be better off at home where he would be safe from the hungry demons. She was glad that the sedative wasnt strong, it made her feel a bit more at easy about giving him the dosage to begin with.
As they walked home she couldnt help but smile:" I do believe that there's a cure. Or more like hoping there is. These kids sure deserves it.." she said, thinking about the kids from the pile. She shook it off, knowing that the other kids would live, was way better to think about.
When they reached his house, she felt a strange feeling of mixed emotions. It was shown in her face and when he asked her to come, she stared at the door for a little while:" Uh. I think.... it's better if you go alone. I'll be in touch." she said, giving him a happy smile. Before she walked off, she looked at the door once more, trying to figure out what the feeling was. However, it wasnt a worry yet to remember. She just hoped all would go well for Nicholas till then.
